Artist’s Statement
Through my visual art practice, specifically through printmaking, I aim to visually and tangibly encapsulate the transient yet cherished memories that spark the concept of home for me. Drawing inspiration from the natural elements of my native India, I intricately weave them together with the organic forms found in my current residence in London, UK.
My exploration delves into the interplay of materials moving beyond it's function. Keywords in my practice are displacement, home, pattern, organic, natural dyes and craftsmanship. In collaboration with nature and evocative botanicals, I aim to craft enduring tokens that embody my ephemeral experiences. I am especially interested in the term 'Biophillia'. Given my roots, this topic resonates with my current research.
